During the Spanish Civil War, Goya, an extravagant American is living at the residence of Count Cerralbo, whose family presided over Villa-Ramuro for several centuries. Unconcerned by the war, he decides to flee to France. He meets Vandale, a beautiful but eccentric woman during the bombing of Guernica. Following this heinous event, they would give themselves over to defending the Republic.
